Gilli Axel
Vinyasa Yoga
Gilli Axel was introduced to Jivamukti Yoga in 1997 and in 2007completed her teacher training with her teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life. She also completed her advanced teacher training in June, 2010 with mentor Rima Rabbath.
Gilli has since committed her practice of teaching Yoga as a path to enlightenment. Gilli believes that the first step to the ascension of consciousness begins with non-harming (ahimsa), which is the first step of Patanjali’s System of Ashtanga Yoga. Gilli believes that the path of Yoga is not an hour commitment twice a week in class, it is a conviction of self-discipline to purify the mind and develop awareness of Self. Once we purify our minds and bodies, spiritual development can be accelerated.
Gilli’s mission is to teach Yoga so that each person would experience the joy, vitality and freedom of Self that Yoga brings. She teaches a rigorous yet fun class, designed for students of various levels. She encourages everyone to challenge their own mental and physical state in a manner appropriate to where they are right now.
Gilli is ever grateful to her family for their unwavering support and blessed to be in the company of so many inspiring teachers who continue to bless her life so that she may uplift the lives of all whom she teaches.

Sue Banzon
Pre-Natal Yoga
Sue Banzon first found yoga during college, while trying new classes at her local gym. It was a few years later, that she truly discovered yoga and it’s innate benefits – physically, emotionally and spiritually, when her breath became restricted from hearing news about her mother’s, at the time, serious illness. After experiencing personal great shifts through the practice of yoga, Susan wanted to share this gift with others.
Sue received her 200-hour yoga certification from Atmananda Studios in 2005 and since then, has taken many workshops with different teachers, including her Pre-natal Yoga instructor certification with Mia Borgatta from Ma Yoga in 2009 and Restorative Yoga instructor certification from Kripalu in 2007. She’s presently on the hunt for a fitting advanced teacher-training program. Susan currently teaches Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Pre-natal and Restorative classes to all levels.
Daba Briggs
Power & Vinyasa Yoga
During your session with Daba, her goal is to lead you into a space where you can tap your inner awareness. To do this, she encourages practitioners to close their eyes and focus on their prana – life force or breath – as it runs through their bodies. Once yogis have established a connection to their breath, they become increasingly aware of every movement throughout their body.
After receiving her 200-hour certification from Yoga to the People, Daba now lives, practices and shares her yoga teaching in the NYC metro area (including Jersey City, Hoboken, and Manhattan). She currently works in the corporate world and tries to embody a yogic attitude in everything she does. To do so, Daba strives to incorporate Pantanjali’s eightfold path in her everyday life. Pantanjali is credited as the “father of yoga” and the eightfold path is a collection of suggestions on how to live a more fulfilling lifestyle through yoga.
Daba draws some of her inspiration from her many yoga instructors, fellow yogis, and YTTP senior teachers including; Katite Gumucio, German Bravo, Sam Chase, and YTTP studio owner – Greg Gumucio.
Dara Conwright
Cardio Kick
Creative, passionate, free-spirited, and giving are the best words to describe Dara Conwright. Raised in Berkeley California by a vegan mother and adventurous father she was nurtured into loving the taste of healthy food and being physically active. During her adolescence she was eager to break away from the strict diet that she was accustomed to; followed the lead of her peers and began to consume massive amounts of junk food without exercising. She noticed the ill effect that this had on her body and mind and soon realized that she valued her previous healthy lifestyle and decided to break her bad eating habits. She convinced her college friends to do the same and took a leadership role by teaching group aerobics in her dormitory; years later to become an AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor and a NSCA certified Personal Trainer.
Dara has a gentle yet no-nonsense approach of encouraging clients to workout at their full potential. She doesn’t support over working clients because safety is of the utmost concern. Her custom designed programs are based on the client’s abilities and she quickly modifies exercises if too easy or challenging. Always aware of her surroundings and with a keen sense of knowing when others are struggling, uncomfortable and/or just plain out bored, Dara is light on her toes, quick on her feet and introduces new activities to make exercising fun and enjoyable!
